8. Do you think losing a pet is easier, harder, or the same as losing a family member? Do you know how to best support a friend or loved one who has lost a pet? Do you know how and where to get support for yourselves?

I don't think they can "read" our thoughts anymore than people can. They can be very smart in relating what they see to our future actions. Our expressions as well. I put on a certain hat, my GSD gets agitated. He knows were going for a long walk. Sometimes they can pick up clues that are even obvious to us. It's amazing.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree with you that they so read our expressions and clues that we don't even know we're giving out.
And sometimes (for me) there's that unspoken, inexplicable,communication and understanding that I find magical...
