Dead Dog Beach's Abandoned and Abused: Puerto Rico's Dumping Grounds

An estimated 150,000 thousand abandoned, abused and neglected dogs wander the streets of Puerto Rico. Most of these dogs will die from starvation, illness, or cruel acts by humans. In my last post I mentioned Steve McGarva and promised to share his shocking first-hand experience with animal cruelty in Puerto Rico. This video footage includes some of his startling story with the dogs at Playa Lucia in Puerto Rico, known by locals as "Dead Dog Beach."

For more information about McGarva and how you might help the dogs, visit Achates Legacy Rescue Foundation, Inc.  ALRF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building animal friendly communities in Mexico and Puerto Rico.
